Prudential Financial Inc. is proving that with the right support and resources, achieving financial aspirations like paying off debt, saving for a house, and earning a living wage can become a reality for many individuals and families.
Through its latest effort, ‘Blueprints to Black Wealth,’ Prudential is leveraging its extensive resources to engage more Black Americans on their financial journey as well as empower them to build and protect wealth.
Blueprints to Black Wealth draws on the company’s 50 years of community engagement and a robust business model that offers tailored financial solutions to individuals and families in the Black community.
The effort currently spans across three target cities in the United States – Newark, NJ; Detroit, MI; and Atlanta, GA. It’s designed to meet Black consumers where they are, connecting them to wealth-building capabilities across the financial spectrum ranging from learning about various financial offerings to working with a financial advisor. It’s a timely undertaking as research shows that nearly 80% of Black Americans aspire to pass wealth to their children and heirs [1], and more than one-third feel ready to work with a financial advisor [2].
“Blueprints to Black Wealth presents a unique opportunity to serve a historically underserved market,” said Keita Cline, vice president of business and market development within Prudential’s Individual Life Insurance business. “Today, Black consumers are deeply invested in their financial health and future, and as a company we are expanding access to wealth-building tools that can help them connect their financial goals with aspirations in a meaningful way.”
Life insurance is issued by The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ, and its affiliates.
