Boots to Business Reboot
Have you ever dreamed of owning and operating your own business? Join us from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, in the Library Center auditorium. Learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur along with highly decorated guest presenters who will discuss how to develop business concepts and planning, market research, financing and more. This workshop is open to veterans and non-service members. Lunch will be provided. Presented in partnership with Simmons Bank, U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE Southwest Missouri and the Veterans Business Outreach Center. “Voices from Vietnam”
Saturday, November 9, 4-5:30 p.m. in the Library Center auditorium. Watch the award-winning film “Voices from Vietnam,” not rated, from 4-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, in the Library Center auditorium. This film features dozens of first-hand photographs and film footage of Vietnam with an original narrative by Vietnam War veteran Larry Rottmann. Mark Biggs directed the film. A Q&A with Rottmann and Biggs will follow the screening.
Community Volunteer Fair
Looking for your place to serve the community? Stop by the Library Center auditorium on Saturday, November 16 from 10 a.m.-noon to browse dozens of local volunteer opportunities. Also, grab some great swag as you connect with organizations that would be grateful to find a volunteer just like you to help them meet their goals.
Stories of the Stars
The night sky has been honored by generations of people all over the world. Cherokee Tribal member Kyle Tate will share stories of the stars and how deeply they connect to Native American tribes under the night sky of the StarLab. This event, for ages 8-12, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, in the Library Center auditorium. Registration is required and starts November 10. Call 417-616-0526 to reserve your spot.
