Four October concerts featuring Usher and Chris Brown have been canceled, removing stops in Baltimore, Cincinnati, Columbia, and Indianapolis from their joint R&B Tour. All four were part of an eight-show expansion announced in August, and the changes come as Brown approaches sentencing in London later this month.
Ticket holders learned of the cancellations on Friday, October 9, Complex reported. The affected shows were scheduled for October 17 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland; October 24 at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio; October 29 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina, and October 31 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The promoter cited the demands of a lengthy stadium tour. In a statement posted by Lucas Oil Stadium, it said the cancellations were meant to prioritize the “health and well-being of the touring party and crew.” The adjustments, it said, would allow the remaining shows to proceed safely.
The Indianapolis venue said fans will receive automatic refunds to their original payment methods within 14 to 21 days, depending on bank processing times. For transferred tickets, the refund goes to the original purchaser.
Brown must return to the United Kingdom by October 25 under his bail conditions. He is due to be sentenced the next day at Southwark Crown Court after pleading guilty in July to affray over a February 2023 confrontation at a London nightclub. Prosecutors dropped more serious assault charges after the plea.
The promoter has not said Brown’s legal proceedings caused the cancellations. Usher and Chris Brown are still listed for an October 15 show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with the next scheduled stop after that set for November 5 in Atlanta.
Five Atlanta performances remain on the calendar at Mercedes-Benz Stadium through November 11. The R&B duo is also scheduled to visit Los Angeles, New Orleans, Houston, Miami, and Tampa before December ends. The two singers have not announced replacement dates for fans in the four affected cities.
