A powerful opportunity is coming to the Springfield Greene County area again this fall for anyone ready to take the leap into entrepreneurship. Starting this September, the Early-Stage Business Boot Camp—part of the programming offered through the Southern Missouri Innovation Network (Innovate SOMO)—will help new and aspiring business owners build the foundation for success.
This no-cost, high-impact boot camp is made possible through Innovate SOMO, a regional initiative led by efactory In Springfield and codefi in Cape Girardeau. These two powerhouse innovation hubs have joined forces to support startups and small businesses across southern Missouri, and it will soon be expanding throughout Missouri, too.
What Is the Early-Stage Business Boot Camp?
The Early-Stage Business Boot Camp is an intensive, hands-on program designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and local connections they need to start and grow a business. It’s ideal for individuals with a business idea, a side hustle they want to grow or a passion project ready to take shape.
From Sept. 22 – Oct. 16, the Springfield Greene County cohort will meet Monday and Thursday evenings 5:30 – 8 p.m. at efactory inside Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center (405 N. Jefferson). The sessions are structured to accommodate working professionals.
Topics include:
- Validating your business idea
- Building a business plan
- Marketing and branding strategies
- Basic bookkeeping and budgeting
- Legal and regulatory considerations
- Accessing local funding and support
The boot camp connects participants not just with expert instructors, but also with successful local entrepreneurs who’ve built businesses in the region. Their real-world insights and mentorship help bridge the gap between learning and doing.
Powered by a Regional Network
efactory and Codefi have spent the last decade building up some of Missouri’s most successful entrepreneur support programs. Now, through Innovate SOMO, they’re bringing these proven models directly into communities across the state.
Participants will also be introduced to follow-on support available through efactory, codefi, and local economic development partners. That includes access to small business funding options, no-cost consultations, and technical assistance beyond the boot camp.
