Jin J. X is set to release a new album, The Barefoot, Pregnant, Neckbeard, Marital Bed, String Band, an exciting departure from previous work. Described as an “Afrofuturist Odyssey” and a fresh take on country music, the album reflects Jin’s deep influences, blending traditional string band sounds with a modern twist.
Inspired by Rhiannon Giddens – The Carolina Chocolate Drops, Jake Blount, and early 2000s Tennessee country, Jin blends traditional string band sounds with a modern, genre-bending twist. A longtime admirer of Chet Atkins’ guitar and production work, Jin brings a unique perspective shaped by years of producing hip-hop beats and working as a guitarist. The album features all original material, except for a powerful rendition of the spiritual “Give Up the World” reimagined by Jake Blount. “It’s me with some acoustics and my weird stuff,” Jin says.
An album release party is scheduled for April 26, 2025, at the Creamery Arts Center, with special guests to be announced soon. The album is now available on all major streaming platforms, with a YouTube link coming soon. Don’t miss this long-awaited celebration!
