The Celebrate Life & Unity in our Community committee invite you to join us in coming together to Celebrate Life & Unity in Our Community. This exciting event will take place on July 12, 2025 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Teamsters local #245, 1850 E. Division Street! It will be a day of Faith, Fellowship, Food, Fun, History and Hope! Come and reconnect with friends and family, as well as welcome new residents in the African American Community. We will remember the past, celebrate the present, and plan for the future.
This year we are going to recognize the African American Clergy that lead the congregations of our local churches. With the current unrest and division in our country, we are in a time of need for prayer and unity. It is with open arms that we welcome them and introduce them to you!
Everyone is welcome to join the Bonnets and Brims Parade. Anyone who would like to be in the parade are welcome to bring their fanciest, coolest, or sharpest bonnet or brim and get in line. This is not a contest but a fun time to show off your Top Hat!
We are inviting everyone to be involved, so let us know:
1. If you are a business owner, we are inviting you to become a sponsor or make a monetary donation, donate a door prize or help with food or supplies.
2. If you are a church, civic group, club or organization, we welcome you to set up a display about your organization, past and/or present, with memorabilia, information and upcoming events.
3. If you are an artist, crafter, musician, singer or dancer etc., and would be interested in displaying some of your art, or talent we welcome you.
4. If you are interested in selling your crafts, art, or products, you are welcome to have a table for a donation of $25.00. Please have your donation in by July 3.
So, if you are in any of the four categories listed and would like to be a part of this wonderful event, or would like to volunteer to help, please contact Patricia Burton at 417-894-2795 or Mark Dixon at 417-987-9939.
All are welcome to attend this FREE day of Faith, Fellowship, Food, Fun, History, and Hope. So, save the date, Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Therefore, we hope you will join us for this day of togetherness and let us Celebrate Life and Unity in Our Community.
