Summer Walker has sued Love Renaissance Records (LVRN), accusing the record label and management company of fraud and breach of contract. Filed in August, the lawsuit seeks financial damages and a court ruling that would declare her September 15, 2017 agreement with LVRN “void and unenforceable,” according to Complex.
Walker’s complaint challenges both her contractual relationship with LVRN and the company’s handling of money allocated to her career. She alleges that the company diverted funds intended for recording and touring to cover what she describes as excessive company expenses. The singer also claims she was denied revenue from YouTube and Amazon pages that use her name and likeness. The allegations are outlined in a 10-page complaint.
Summer Walker’s attorney, Keith Moten, described the dispute as a breakdown of trust between the singer and the company. “Summer has given LVRN iconic music, and some of the best years of her life,” Moten said in a statement to Rolling Stone. “In return, LVRN has breached Summer’s trust in them and has failed Summer in numerous ways.”

The allegations have not been established in court. The lawsuit seeks damages and a declaration that the agreement is unenforceable. The Love Renaissance Records (LVRN) lawsuit is separate from an ongoing dispute between Walker and Interscope Records over her recording agreement.
Interscope has sued Walker for $50 million, arguing that she still owes albums under their deal. The dispute followed Walker’s notice that she intended to leave the agreement by invoking California’s seven-year rule, a law governing certain personal-service contracts. Interscope maintains that Walker’s departure would leave a five-album commitment unfulfilled and is seeking damages related to the outstanding releases.
The two cases concern different contractual relationships, but both involve Walker’s efforts to resolve her recording obligations and leave existing agreements. The outcomes of both cases remain subject to the legal process.
