What part of no don’t you understand?’ 50 Cent reacts to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ efforts to get out of jail—including writing Trump

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is not giving up his fight for his freedom. After the music mogul was found guilty of prostitution-related charges and was sentenced to a little over four years (50 months) in prison, Combs and his legal team have made multiple attempts to overturn the court’s verdict and sentencing– including outreach to the president of the United States.

This week, President Trump told the New York Times that Combs has reportedly written letters in an effort to receive a presidential pardon. Though Trump most recently claimed he is not considering Combs’ request, in July 2025, a source from his administration told outlets that the president is “seriously considering” pardoning Combs following his partially guilty verdict in his federal trial for racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution.

“He was essentially, I guess, sort of half innocent. I don’t know…he’s still in jail or something. He was celebrating a victory. But he seems. I guess it wasn’t as good as a victory [as he hoped],” Trump told Newsmax in August 2025, hesitating to answer whether or not he would pardon the Bad Boys founder. “Probably. You know, I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”

“And it’s hard, you know, we’re human beings, and we don’t like to have things cloud our judgment. But when you knew someone, and you were fine, and then you run for office, and he makes some terrible statements [about you]. I don’t know. I’m being honest, it makes it more difficult to do,” he added.

News of Combs’ reported letters to Trump comes shortly after the music mogul’s legal team filed its latest appeal to the courts, arguing that he was improperly sentenced and accusing U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian of acting like a “thirteenth juror” when sentencing.

“He’s willing to do anything to get out of jail,” an unnamed source close to Combs previously told Rolling Stone. “He’s always been this way. He’s always going to do what he has to do to get out of a situation.”

As social media users shared mixed reactions to the music mogul’s efforts, 50 Cent, rapper and executive producer of Netflix’s buzzy documentary about Combs, shared his thoughts on the Bad Boy Records founder penning letters to Trump.

“What part of no don’t you understand, 🤨 I told him [Trump] what ya said he was surprised, 👀you said some very nasty things about him,” 50 Cent wrote on Instagram.
