Springfield, MO—All ages are invited to the annual Meet and Greet Celebration, a diverse lineup of educational storytelling presentations that convey the legacy of “Hair-i-tage,” community and culture. The event is 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Midtown Carnegie Branch Library, 397 E. Central St.

Dr. Brinson works at Missouri State University and specializes in diversity, multiculturalism, and social justice, with an emphasis in African-American studies and culturally responsive literature. Dr. Brinson will talk about strategies to motivate reading in the community, share her collection of cultural responsive books and discuss the social and emotional benefits of reading.
