OutKast and Waffle House are bringing two of Atlanta’s most recognizable cultural institutions together for a limited-edition merchandise collaboration.

11Alive reported that the Grammy-winning hip-hop duo and the Atlanta-based restaurant chain have partnered on a collection that includes shirts, jerseys, hats, socks and other apparel celebrating the connection between OutKast and their hometown.

The collaboration was teased earlier this week when Waffle House posted an image of one of its signs featuring the words “Gator belts and patty melts,” a reference to OutKast’s 2000 song “So Fresh, So Clean.”

The duo later revealed more of the collection in a social media video set to the song, showing designs that combine OutKast and Waffle House branding. Some pieces feature André 3000 and Big Boi wearing Waffle House uniforms, while others incorporate the restaurant’s familiar visual identity alongside OutKast imagery.

The collection includes T-shirts, a baseball jersey, bucket hats, socks and hoodies, among other items.

And because this is Atlanta, the collaboration is extending beyond merchandise.

A launch party was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2, at the Waffle House location near Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta and featured a DJ, limited-edition merchandise, special André 3000 and Big Boi meals, souvenir menus, and complimentary coupons.

The merchandise will also be available online through OutKast’s website.

The collaboration arrives during a significant year for the duo. OutKast, made up of André 3000 and Big Boi, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2025, while 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of “ATLiens,” the group’s influential second album.

OutKast emerged from Atlanta’s hip-hop scene in the 1990s and helped establish the city as a major force in hip-hop. Waffle House, meanwhile, has been an Atlanta institution since its founding in Avondale Estates, Georgia, in 1955.

The result is a collaboration that feels distinctly Atlanta: hip-hop, late-night meals and a little bit of “So Fresh, So Clean.”
