A crook is in the White House, so don’t act shocked when you learn he’s stealing.
It’s what crooks do.
The president of people who are so racist they are willing to lose their livelihoods because of him and yet still support him is using taxpayers’ money to make and post an ad celebrating himself and his decision to go to war with Iran despite not being up for election.
The whole thing should be X-rated: this personal fluffing of himself with taxpayers’ money, consistently campaigning for a position he’s already got, possibly because he’s learned that despite the people that name their firstborns after him, the rest of us hate this man.
His politics, his rhetoric, his eating habits are all wildly unpopular with the populace that believes that the Earth is round and that Off the Wall is way better than Thriller, but we can learn a lot from his “The lady doth protest too much” face-ass.
Donald Trump is scared to death.
And the proof is the one-minute spot that celebrates his decision to go to war with Iran. The ad aired during a commercial break on Fox News on Wednesday night, The Guardian reports.
Winners don’t campaign.
With the midterms approaching, and gas prices higher than Snoop Dogg standing on a giraffe’s forehead, Trump is scrambling to push his badly hobbled team across the finish line because he knows that if he loses Congress, he loses it all. He can no longer strongarm the governing body of America to bend the knee. He can no longer finish out the tail end of Project 2025. He can’t keep one hand in America’s jean pocket while the other rubs Israel’s back. And it’s not that Democrats are some big, bad brood of righteousness; they are not. But they are less crooked than the San Francisco roadway that is the Republicans.
So the president is working overtime to sell his agenda to the people with the one thing he’s had since he started his foray into business: lies. It’s the one thing the president has in spades, and he uses it whenever pushed. It’s his superpower.
In the new ad posted by Medium Buying, a company that purchases airtime for Republican candidates, it uses audio from the president’s Feb. 28 statement that the United States military had bombed Iran.
“This regime will soon learn that no one should challenge the strength and might of the United States Armed Forces,” Trump can be heard saying over footage of combat, which appears to be dramatizations or AI. A cover version of John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom plays in the background.
The audio then turns to comments from Warmonger Pete Hegseth, who is grossly unqualified to be a sandwich artist at Subway but somehow is the Secretary of Defense, in a briefing on the war.
“He reminded the world, as he has time and time again, being an American means something unbreakable,” Hegseth says over slow-motion images of Trump walking down a corridor.
“If you kill Americans, if you threaten Americans anywhere on Earth, we will hunt you down without apology and without hesitation, and we will kill you,” Hegseth says. “We didn’t start this war, but under President Trump, we are finishing it. Their war on Americans has become our retribution against their ayatollah”.
The words “Paid for by the US Government” show up in small print at the bottom of the screen. The ad then transitions to Trump’s call for Iran to change regimes.
“To the great proud people of Iran, I say tonight that the hour of your freedom is at hand,” Trump can be heard saying, as music and images of Iranian Americans celebrate the US strikes on March 1.
“When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take.”
That’s where the ad becomes more than propaganda. It becomes a confession.
Because presidents who are confident in their power generally don’t need to spend taxpayer money producing cinematic tributes to themselves. They don’t need slow-motion shots, ominous music, and a John Lee Hooker soundtrack to remind America they are, in fact, very powerful.
But Trump does because he’s losing, and the scary part is that he knows it.
